Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist
The Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for independently performing ultrasound examinations on patients as ordered by the physician.
Job Duties:
- Operate and maintain sonographic scanners used for ultrasound procedures
- Ascertain and apply the proper amount of gel to the area of the patient being examined
- Ability to perform ultrasound and notice any changes in the patient simultaneously
- Collect and communicate ultrasound results with physician
- Communicate with the patient throughout the entire procedure
- Track and maintain patient record while they are under your supervision
- Perform proper procedures to keep the ultrasound room clean and sterilized
Requirements:
- Successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist Program
- Must be a state licensed and a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- Must me a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technology
- Minimum 1 year prior work experience required
