Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist

The Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for independently performing ultrasound examinations on patients as ordered by the physician.

Job Duties:

  • Operate and maintain sonographic scanners used for ultrasound procedures
  • Ascertain and apply the proper amount of gel to the area of the patient being examined
  • Ability to perform ultrasound and notice any changes in the patient simultaneously
  • Collect and communicate ultrasound results with physician
  • Communicate with the patient throughout the entire procedure
  • Track and maintain patient record while they are under your supervision
  • Perform proper procedures to keep the ultrasound room clean and sterilized

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist Program
  • Must be a state licensed and a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Must me a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technology
  • Minimum 1 year prior work experience required
