Patient Account Specialist
As a patient account specialist, you are responsible for the daily process and submission of durable medical equipment claims. You will work directly with physicians, medical professionals, and patients in a clinical setting.
Duties
- Process durable medical equipment (DME) orders
- Compare claims against signed invoice charge tickets
- Verify insurance coverage/pre authorization
- Process physicians orders
- Resolve account related issues
- Take payments for patients over the phone
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to organize multiple projects and assignments at once
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and staff
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, insurance claims and benefits
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- (1) year of medical insurance billing experience
- Must have professional phone skills; call center experience is a plus
