Medical Technician

Job Duties
- Using microscopic techniques and procedures to analyze blood cells
- Manage laboratory supplies and inventory in the form of assessing stock to figure out the inventory levels.
- Ordering new supplies when needed and verifying receipts
- Keep patients confident and ensuring the hospital’s information is kept confidential.
- Assist patients with understanding the medical technology used by answering their questions and requests
- Analyzing blood, urine, gastric juices, and spinal fluids chemically to determine normal and abnormal components to the body fluid
- Quantifying data and consolidating it into easily comprehensible reports of technological findings
- Follow infection control and hazardous waste policies and protocols
- Ensuring the appropriate operation of laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, colorimeters, flame photometers, and more by calibrating when needed
- Prepare blood plasma and platelets for transfusions by way of conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests.
