Manager of Provider Relations

The manager of provider relations is responsible for overseeing subordinate provider relations specialists within a facility, as well as the provider partners outside of a facility. As their role is managerial, the manager of provider relations must possess strong leadership skills, have the ability to effectively train other staff members, and effectively monitor the performance of others in the provider relations department. Likewise, the manager of provider relations fosters and maintains provider relationships through direct communication, contract inspection, and consistent updates. 

Job Responsibilities

• Establish new provider relationships
• Nurture existing provider relationships 
• Direct provider relations specialists 
• Inspect and monitor provider contracts 
• Train provider network members 

Qualifications and Skills 

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience 
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field 
• Master’s degree in a related field preferred 
• 5 – 7 years of provider relations experience 
• 4+ years of management experience 
• Proficiency with word processing software
