Data Entry Rep
The primary focus for a data entry rep is to enter, process, and store data into a computer database system for accurate record keeping. To identify information discrepancies, data entry reps must be efficient problem solvers and possess a sharp attention to detail. While they often work independently, data entry reps must also be effective communicators with strong interpersonal skills for when they work within a team. Qualified data entry reps are fast typers, accurate data analyzers, and organized workers who also practice excellent time management skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Accurately enters patient information into the appropriate computer system
- Assesses data in a efficient and timely manner
- Prepares reports for management
- Effectively communicates with staff
- Tracks financial records, including payments, co-pays, prior-authorizations, and more
- Evaluates and processes expense reports
- Keeps record and updates vendor data
- Reviews and analyzes data to catch potential errors
- Relays problems found with data
- Must keep financial matters confidential and maintain professionalism at all times
- Understand and maintain HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum three years of data entry experience
- Highly organized
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced in MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
- Highly personable with excellent interpersonal skills
- Works well in a fast-paced environment where there is a high volume of data to enter
