Data Entry Rep

The primary focus for a data entry rep is to enter, process, and store data into a computer database system for accurate record keeping. To identify information discrepancies, data entry reps must be efficient problem solvers and possess a sharp attention to detail. While they often work independently, data entry reps must also be effective communicators with strong interpersonal skills for when they work within a team. Qualified data entry reps are fast typers, accurate data analyzers, and organized workers who also practice excellent time management skills.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Accurately enters patient information into the appropriate computer system
  • Assesses data in a efficient and timely manner
  • Prepares reports for management 
  • Effectively communicates with staff
  • Tracks financial records, including payments, co-pays, prior-authorizations, and more
  • Evaluates and processes expense reports
  • Keeps record and updates vendor data
  • Reviews and analyzes data to catch potential errors
  • Relays problems found with data 
  • Must keep financial matters confidential and maintain professionalism at all times
  • Understand and maintain HIPAA guidelines 

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years of data entry experience
  • Highly organized 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Experienced in MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Highly personable with excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment where there is a high volume of data to enter
