Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist

The Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for independently performing ultrasound examinations on patients as ordered by the physician.

Job Duties:

  • Operate and maintain sonographic scanners used for ultrasound procedures
  • Ascertain and apply the proper amount of gel to the area of the patient being examined
  • Ability to perform ultrasound and notice any changes in the patient simultaneously
  • Collect and communicate ultrasound results with physician
  • Communicate with the patient throughout the entire procedure
  • Track and maintain patient record while they are under your supervision
  • Perform proper procedures to keep the ultrasound room clean and sterilized

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist Program
  • Must be a state licensed and a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Must me a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technology
  • Minimum 1 year prior work experience required

Surgical/Scrub Technician

The Surgical/Scrub Technician’s role is to assist surgeons and other medical professionals in the operating room. Under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse, the candidate will prepare the operating room and equipment prior to the procedure and operate as a part of the operating team during surgery.

Job Duties:

  • Keep abreast of assigned patient procedures to ensure timely preparation of rooms
  • Ensure that every case has the needed supplies to last the duration of the procedure
  • If supplies run low during the procedure, replace as needed
  • Use aseptic techniques when opening and preparing instruments for surgery
  • Place sterile solutions in areas that are easily reachable for doctors
  • Clean and remove hair (if needed) from the area where the patient’s surgery will be performed
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room
  • Lift patients unto the operating table before surgery and remove them after surgery
  • Monitor patient’s vital signs throughout the procedure
  • Pass the needed equipment to the doctors during surgery

Requirements:

  • Successful Completion of a Surgical Technology Program
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Certification by the NBSTSA preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers, and patients
  • Ability to frequently lift or move 25 – 50 pounds
  • 1 year operating room experience preferred

Refunds and Credit Rep

The Refunds and Credit Rep is responsible for resolving accounts with a credit balance by initiating refunds to Commercial, Government, Managed Care and patient accounts paid in error by the payer or the patient.

Job Duties:

  • Proactively seek and handle credit accounts prior to requests
  • Gather complete supporting documentation before processing refund
  • Ensure all refund requests are processed within 72 hours
  • Ensure that all refunds are processed within payer and government guidelines
  • Maintain compliance and productivity guidelines as provided by management
  • Identify any previously unnoticed trends in refunds and present to management
  • Reconcile refund postings

Required:

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 1 Year prior customer service experience
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Efficiently operate a multiple line phone system
  • Previous experience in a healthcare facility in relation to accounts receivable or billing practices preferred.

Remote Coding Specialist

The remote coding specialist will work off site to assign codes to patient’s services and medical diagnosis.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain a reliable mode of receiving medical charts, medical records, and other documents
  • Appropriately code the received documents within the predetermined timeline
  • Send coded documents to insurance companies or back to medical facilities as appropriate
  • Ensure medical coding software is updated and operating properly
  • Keep records extremely organized and accurate
  • Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and federal regulations
  • Remain familiar with the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), and Diagnosis-related Group (DRG) codes

Requirements:

  • Minimum Associate’s degree in medical coding
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a coding specialist
  • Certification as a coding specialist through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
  • Certified professional Coder by the American Association of Medical Coders (AAMC)

  • In depth knowledge of computer operation

Pharmacy Bill Auditor

The role of the Pharmacy Bill Auditor is to ensure that filled prescriptions are billed in accordance with the negotiated insurance rates. They will work closely with assigned pharmacies to certify that prescriptions are dispensed and claims are filed within the appropriate state’s rules and regulations.

Job Duties:

  • Visit assigned pharmacies and perform announced or unannounced billing audits of previously filed claims
  • Perform remote mini audits to encourage continued compliance
  • Observe pharmacist to ensure they are dispensing medication within guidelines
  • Inspect inventory and pharmacy computer programs for accuracy and discrepancies
  • Ensure all equipment is in proper working order and in compliance with industry standards
  • Investigate inquiries into claims to determine the nature of errors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other health care related field

  • In depth knowledge of the health insurance process

A/R Insurance Rep

The A/R Insurance Rep will work with patients, insurance companies, and other third party payers to ensure accurate and timely payments for each patient’s account. The ideal candidate will be a great multitasker as they will also work with patients professionally to understand their account details; provide an accurate and timely response if there is any concern,; and provide a resolution if needed.

  • Generate patient statements daily
  • Handle patient concerns and provide resolutions
  • Ensure accurate payments to patient’s accounts by insurance companies or other payers
  • Meeting collection goals and metrics
  • Provide any needed reimbursements to appropriate payers
  • Maintains confidentiality for patient accounts and the financial affairs of the healthcare facility

Must have excellent verbal and writing skills.

  • File and retain records in accordance with appropriate regulations
  • Contact clients when needed and answer questions when appropriate
  • Mentor other employees about electronic medical records
  • Assess current procedures and provide more efficient alternatives when necessary
