Receptionist

From greeting patients and offering administrative support to scheduling appointments and distributing mail, receptionists play a key role in clinics, imaging centers, and other healthcare settings. Receptionists assist with a range of administrative requests, which may include filling, sorting mail, and responding to inquiries. Moreover, receptionists must display professionalism and deliver excellent customer service to patients in person, over the phone, and through email.

Job Responsibilities                                                                                                         

  • Maintain a clean, organized front desk area
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and mail inquiries
  • Direct phone calls to other departments as needed
  • Receive, sort, and distribute facility mail
  • Fax, scan, and file documents
  • Schedule appointments and organize provider calendars
  • Verify insurance eligibility
  • Collect co-pays and payments
  • Process billing information

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in an administrative/receptionist role
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency with word processing software
