Healthcare Administrator/Director

Where there are physicians and directors of nursing managing the clinical components of a medical facility, there are healthcare directors overseeing the administrative team. From finance to management, healthcare directors are in charge of making sure every non-clinical function is running efficiently and within their assigned budgets. Also known as healthcare administrators, these business professionals monitor spending, assess personnel conflicts, collaborate with multiple departments, and work to ensure compliance so as to provide the best patient experience possible.

Job Responsibilities                                                                                                         

  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with HR to interview and hire staff
  • Oversee multiple departments in a healthcare facility
  • Develop compliance programs
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Monitor budgets and spending
  • Organize press conferences and media releases

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Associate degree in a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a similar field
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in healthcare administration
  • Proficiency with word processing software
