Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Under the supervision and guidance of a physical therapist, a physical therapy assistant (PTA) provides treatment for patients with disabilities, injuries, and other issues. A physical therapist will design a treatment plan for each patient, which the PTA will use to help manage pain and restore mobility. Sometimes, after evaluating a patient and working through their treatment plan, a PTA may recommend modifications to better fit a patient’s changing needs. PTAs typically work in a hospital or physical therapy office.
