Provider Relations Specialist
Under the supervision of the manager of provider relations, a provider relations specialist fosters and maintains relationships with patient referral sources. To successfully nurture such relationships, professionals in a provider relations specialist role must possess strong sales, communication, and multi-tasking skills. Furthermore, provider relations specialists must have customer service experience that will help them to address and resolve any referral source concerns and complaints.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish new provider relationships
- Negotiate referral source contracts
- Evaluate contracts and report findings
- Address referral source concerns
- Answer, place, and return phone calls regarding referral sources
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency with word processing software
